You have now officially been out for longer than you’ve been in mummy’s tummy.
This past month you have started day care with a wonderful lady called Mellissa as mummy prepares to go back to work (2 days a week).
Achievements:
- On Friday 8th of April you took your first step. It was a bit like a cling to mum and leap for a toy but that still counts.
- You are able to stand for 5-10 seconds without support.
- You are a master crawler!
- You can go up and down steps, decks, anything really
- You enjoy climbing (Daddy built you a rock climbing wall for you to practice)
- You definitely know your name and the words ‘no’ ‘bang bang’ and ‘splash splash’
- Love listening to animal sounds (except for sheep and goats – they terrify you
- Imitate animal noses i.e. ‘neigh’ and ‘meow’ as we read to you
- You are the happiest when you are outside or in water
- You pull to stand and cruise along furniture
- Use other objects to help you walk i.e. stools, office chair, ottoman
- Play ‘peak a boo’ using the couch and curtains
- Have started bear crawling and are becoming increasingly frustrated with being unable to walk
- Crawl to the bath when you hear it being run
- Use objects to bang other objects
- Pay attention to where we are looking and pointing
- Enjoy pressing buttons on sound books and textures in texture books
- Enjoy putting your fingers into holes (including mouths, ears and noses)
- You will quickly rip off any hat that we put on your head and can attempt to take off your jumper
Other:
- Solids: You are getting better and better at eating finger food but you are still a very fussy eater.
- We have started you on a non- prescription formula and so far- no spew (touch wood)
- You still love drinking out of adult cups and your sippy cup
- You love chops and are beginning to enjoy spaghetti
- Sleep: Has been up and down this past month. Some nights you have slept through- others you’ve been up 4 times. Sometimes just for a cuddle off mummy.
- Teeth: SEVEN! They just keep popping out!
- You fit into size 0 and 1 clothes. You’re a size smaller on the bottom (0). You hate wearing hats of any kind and quickly rip them off your head.
- You are very curious and independent
- You love wheels and drain and helping mum in the garden
- Your eye sight is fantastic and you notice the smallest pieces of dirt on the floor
